The General Directorate of Border Guard Forces is one of the oldest security agencies affiliated with the Ministry of Interior. Along with the rest of the security services in the Ministry of Interior, it plays an important and effective role within the security system experienced by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is considered as an impenetrable fortress and a protective shield for a country with a wide geographical area and multiple borders with countries. The General Directorate of the Border Guard is also one of the most important weapons in the Saudi military forces, and its main mission is to protect the land and sea borders from illegal penetration, as well as to prevent infiltration and illegal smuggling of goods and contraband such as drugs, weapons and others.
