General Entertainment Authority

The General Entertainment Authority is a Saudi authority established on Rajab 30, 1437 AH corresponding to May 7, 2016 and is concerned with everything related to entertainment activity.

The decision to establish the General Authority for Entertainment was one of the royal decisions that come in line with the Kingdom’s announcement of its future vision 2030, given the great importance of the entertainment sector in the development of the Saudi national economy, and giving cities international competitiveness. On April 25, 2016, the Deputy Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, had indicated on the day of the inauguration of Saudi Vision 2030 to push the government to activate the role of various government funds in establishing and developing entertainment centers, encouraging investors from inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and forging partnerships with companies International entertainment, and allocating lands for the establishment of cultural and entertainment projects such as libraries, museums, arts and others.
